Nikon sponsors Aesthetic Dentistry MENA Awards 2011

Emphasizing the importance of digital photography in the field of dental surgery, the last weekend of October 2011 marked the calendar of dental professionals with the esteemed Aesthetic Dentistry MENA Awards 2011 – cosponsored by NIKON and Grand Stores.

 

Held on Thursday 27th October 2011 at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel in Dubai, the event welcomed for the third time, the experts in Dental – Facial Cosmetic Surgery from the MENA region.  Dentists from 12 countries competed with their professional treatment achievements for the most coveted awards, recognized by the Dental Department of the Ministry of Health, UAE. Nikon in association with Grand Stores sponsored the event by giving away compact digital cameras with in-built projectors to the winning contestants.

 

Nikon had also set-up an attractive display of its professional DSLR cameras on 28th & 29th of October 2011 during the 3rd Dental-Facial Cosmetic International Conference, attended by leading practitioners, researchers and industry players.  A hands-on Digital Photography workshop, targeting the dental professionals was also provided on the eve of 28th October by Mr. Fegy Parapilly – an ardent photographer and Grand Stores employee.  The interactive workshop that focused on the fundamental principles of photography included topics such as mega-pixels, image stabilization, dust reduction, live view, sensors, shutter speed, aperture and face recognition.  The doctors were also given opportunities to practice and master the techniques in dental photography. Signifying the role of photography in dental practice a life-size Nikon logo was prominently displayed at the entrance of Jumeirah Beach Hotel during the entire weekend of the event.

 

Bringing together industrial leaders and professional practitioners under one roof, the Dental Facial Cosmetic Conference welcomed 756 participants and 105 representatives from the region.  There were 29 different countries represented within the two day conference and Nikon in line with Grand Stores played a pivotal role in adding knowledge-based value to this noble event.
